Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By accessing or using After DD214 (“the Service”) at afterdd214.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

2. Description of service

After DD214 is an AI-assisted resume translation and career preparation service designed for U.S. military veterans and transitioning service members. The Service uses large language models to rewrite, score, and optimize resume content for civilian employment. Output generated by the Service is for informational and professional preparation purposes only.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. Accounts and credentials

  • ◆You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • ◆You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • ◆You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • ◆We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Credits and payments

  • ◆Certain features require credits. Credits are consumed when AI-powered actions (resume translations, scoring, etc.) are performed.
  • ◆Credits can be earned through promotions or purchased through the Service.
  • ◆Purchased credits are non-refundable except as required by law or at our discretion.
  • ◆Credit balances have no cash value and are not transferable.
  • ◆Subscription fees, if applicable, are billed in advance and are non-refundable for partial periods.

6. Military verification

The Service offers enhanced access to verified U.S. military veterans. Verification may be performed by uploading a DD214 or using a military-issued (.mil) email address. By submitting a DD214, you confirm that the document belongs to you and that you consent to the Service extracting and storing relevant information from it (branch, rank, MOS/AFSC, separation date, and decorations) to pre-populate your profile. Submitting false or fraudulent documents is grounds for immediate account termination.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • ◆Upload content that is unlawful, fraudulent, or that infringes on the rights of others.
  • ◆Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the Service's AI models or underlying systems.
  • ◆Use the Service to generate spam, mass applications, or content intended to deceive employers.
  • ◆Share your account or allow unauthorized third parties to use your credits.
  • ◆Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

8. AI-generated content

The Service uses AI models to generate resume rewrites, scores, and career guidance. You acknowledge that:
  • ◆AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
  • ◆You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all output before submitting it to employers.
  • ◆The Service does not guarantee employment outcomes or ATS score improvements.
  • ◆Resume content you upload is processed by Anthropic's Claude API as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Your content

You retain ownership of the resume content, career data, and other material you upload to the Service (“Your Content”). By uploading Your Content, you grant After DD214 a limited, non-exclusive license to process and store it for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use Your Content to train AI models or sell it to third parties.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, and AI outputs (other than Your Content), is owned by After DD214 and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AFTER DD214 SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, the Service, or third parties. You may delete your account at any time from Account settings.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
